US bourse notched another historical high on Tuesday as investors gradually downplayed the impact of recent US military actions against Venezuela. Both the S&P 500 and the DJIA reached record levels.
The S&P 500 gained 42 points or 0.6%, closing at 6,944, marking a new historical closing high, and also refreshed its intraday record. The DJIA, primarily composed of blue chips, finished up 484 points or 1%, also setting all-time highs both intraday and at the close, at 49,462. The Nasdaq hiked 151 points or 0.7%, ending at 23,547.
Amazon (AMZN.US), one of the "Magnificent Seven", spiked 3.4%, shoring up the three major stock indices. Nvidia (NVDA.US) initially advanced but then ebbed back, closing down 0.5%.
